Custom walk-in showers

A custom shower should feel simple because the planning was thorough.

ARA Flooring Ltd builds walk-in showers around proper preparation, compatible waterproofing systems, balanced tile layouts, practical storage, and details designed for daily use.

The ARA approach

Designed around the room and the people using it.

A walk-in shower is not one standard product. Entry height, drain location, wall condition, niche placement, bench size, tile format, glass dimensions, and plumbing all influence the final design.

We explain those decisions, coordinate the installation sequence, and build the hidden assembly with the same care as the finished surface.

Built with precision. Finished with pride.

Scope

Custom shower options

01

Low-Threshold Entries

Reduced-entry designs evaluated against floor structure, drainage, waterproofing, and glass requirements.

02

Recessed Niches

Storage planned around tile layout, framing, waterproofing, reach, and visual balance.

03

Built-In Benches

Benches proportioned for the room and integrated into the waterproofing and tile assembly.

04

Large-Format Shower Tile

Fewer grout joints and a calm appearance, supported by flat substrates and careful handling.

05

Accent & Mosaic Details

Intentional feature areas used where they improve scale, grip, drainage, or design—not simply as decoration.

06

Glass-Ready Openings

Edges, curbs, walls, and dimensions prepared with the future glass enclosure in mind.

The hidden work

How a durable shower comes together

Each stage supports the next. The finished surface is only as dependable as the preparation, planning, and decisions beneath it.

01

Evaluate

We review access, framing, plumbing, floor structure, drain position, and the desired shower footprint.

02

Plan

Tile layout, niche placement, bench dimensions, entry condition, edge profiles, and glass considerations are coordinated.

03

Prepare

Walls and floors are corrected where necessary so the waterproofing and tile can be installed over a suitable foundation.

04

Waterproof

A compatible shower system is installed with careful treatment of the pan, seams, corners, penetrations, and transitions.

05

Set Tile

Coverage, alignment, slopes, cuts, movement joints, and finish details are checked throughout installation.

06

Review

The completed shower is inspected and relevant care, curing, and use guidance is explained.

Materials & systems

The waterproofing system is part of the design

We work with systems such as Schluter Kerdi and GoBoard, along with compatible mortars, sealants, drains, and accessories. Components are selected as a system so the layers behind the tile work together.

Questions homeowners ask

Walk-in shower questions

Clear answers are part of a professional process. Project-specific conditions are always evaluated before final recommendations are made.

Can every shower be made curbless?

Not always without structural changes. Floor framing, drain location, available depth, adjoining floor height, waterproofing, and code requirements must be evaluated first.

What tile works best on the shower floor?

Grip, slope conformity, drainage, grout-joint frequency, maintenance, and the specific shower design matter more than one universal tile size.

How soon can the new shower be used?

Cure time depends on the products and assembly used. We provide project-specific guidance rather than giving a one-size-fits-all answer.

Can you add a niche and bench?

Usually, but they need to be planned around framing, plumbing, waterproofing, tile layout, reach, and the available shower space.
